Proving Up: Missy Mazzoli (with librettist Royce Vavrek) confronts the sobering reality of the cost of pursuing the American Dream via a compelling true story, marked by haunted spirits, evocative contemporary musical effects, and the brutal conditions of settling in the Old West to be performed Sept 23, 24, and 25.
Letters to Lily: World Premiere of Emily Clements’ LGBTQ coming of age opera, Letters to Lily, which musically inquires: How far would you go to be your true self? This fully staged production of the self-contained Act One performs as part of Pride celebrations Sept. 30 September, Oct. 1-2.
BelleSongs: Soprano Kara Grover and pianist Lois Henry join forces to present a recital anchored by Ms. Henry’s specially commissioned Bellesongs, along with other compositions by creative women, including the head of UNLV Opera Theatre, Dr. Linda Lister, on Oct. 8.
Everyday Woman offers exceptional support in presenting these three unique weekends of music empowering creators, furthering the agency of female characters, and promoting equity in the arts.
Proving Up: Missy Mazzoli will perform at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Black Box Theatre at the Alta Ham Fine Arts building on UNLV campus at 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Sept. 23-25.
Letters to Lily will perform at The Center, 401 S Maryland Parkway, Sept. 30, Oct. 1-2.
Bellesongs will perform at Southern Nevada Music, 350 N Stephanie St., Henderson, Oct. 8.
