The First Amendment is our Freedom, our Culture is our Community.
If you are a fan of Eat More Art Vegas, then you know our position on the recent missives from the White House designed to silence dissent from Artists, Scientists, Scholars, and NGO's. The Executive Orders eliminate funding, and new NEA guidelines threaten "civil rights" investigations into companies that continue to uplift historically marginalized groups as part of their mission and creative practice.
It is my position as both the publisher of the privately owned Eat More Art Vegas platform, and the Artistic Director of a 501(c)3 nonprofit company The Asylum Theatre that these current policies violate my professional ethics as a Theatre artist, and the First Amendment's Five Freedoms of Speech, Belief, Assembly, Petition, and the Press.
Our culture is the reflection and legacy of our Humanity. Our creative practices are the essential skills for learning and working together.
Actors have faced political persecution in every age but the Theatre has survived because they specialize in identifying and leveraging their power with others to get what they are fighting for.
Make no mistake, this is the fight of a lifetime for our happiness now, and every generation that might remember to say our names after us, but great news! We absolutely have the power to stop the overreach in its tracks, and we don't need anyone's permission to do the right thing and advocate for our freedom to be and come together.

CONTACT CONGRESS, use a tool like 5 Calls to make it easy.
CONTACT STATE LEGISLATORS, ask them what they are doing to protect us from the Administration's firing of our locals in public service and attacks on our rights, checks, and balances.
SHOW UP at public comments for the School Board and State Legislature.
