A Twentieth Anniversary is ample cause for celebration, so Opera Las Vegas will note their milestone 2019-2020 season with One Amazing Evening, featuring passionate voices raised in song for one night only at the Smith Center, Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at 7:00 pm, Thursday, 24 October.
The company invites you to raise a glass as they recall many of their biggest successes of the past two decades. Some of the Valley’s most popular vocalists will reprise beloved melodies from such notable hits as Madame Butterfly, Don Giovanni, and The Barber of Seville. The most famous opera in the world, Carmen, will also get a big nod as it figures prominently in OLV history as its first full production in the 2005 season, reappearing for a second time in 2016.
From the tempestuous emotions of Pagliacci, to the frothy fun of The Elixir of Love, to the dramatic conflict of Rigoletto, to the fantasy fairy tale Cinderella, this melodious retrospective will offer a cornucopia of operatic vocal delights. Recalling notable concert events over the years, the evening promises to include stirring vocal tributes mined from Our Three Tenors, Beer and Baritones, Stars of David, Bravo Bernstein!, Latin Fiesta, and Opera Legends in Black.
Tickets at $30-$50 for One Amazing Evening are available at the Smith Center Box Office, phone (702)-749-2000 or online at thesmithcenter.com/shows/tickets. For more information visit www.operalasvegas.com
