The Rita Deanin Abbey Art Museum will host Fiddle & Fern Ensemble, a string quartet concert on Friday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Marking the first-ever public concert at the museum, Fiddle & Fern Ensemble will be an evening of folksy, fiddly, fun, inspired by the music of the GRAMMY-nominated group, Danish String Quartet. Following the concert, a special champagne reception will be available for attendees. Guests are also encouraged to explore the museum before and after the performance.
“The ‘Fiddle & Fern’ concert will be a wonderful way to immerse guests in a beautiful medley of music, while simultaneously surrounded by Rita’s astonishing art,” said Laura Sanders, executive director of the Rita Deanin Abbey Art Museum. “We are honored to partner with such a talented group of musicians and are confident that attendees will feel inspired and uplifted throughout the performance.”
The concert will be led by four Las Vegas-based musicians, including violinists Arturo Hernández Gómez, Adrianna Shaw, and James Anderson, and cellist and vocalist Kimberley Kistler.
Arturo Hernández Gómez
Arturo Hernández Gómez is a professional musician residing in Las Vegas. He plays violin, viola, and mandolin in classical, pop, folk, and jazz styles. Gómez is also a professional music arranger. Alongside performing and arranging, he has taught music in group and private class settings for over ten years in the valley. Some professional credits and affiliations include Andrea Bocelli, the Latin GRAMMYs, the Latin Billboard Awards, Annex Quartet, and the Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra, as well as playing in the pit orchestra for local musical theatre productions.
Adrianna Shaw
Born in Las Vegas, Adrianna Shaw has spent her life playing the violin. Immediately after graduating from the GRAMMY Award-winning Las Vegas Academy, Shaw started her professional music career in Las Vegas. With her jazz and classical background, she has been able to play multiple styles and genres, including pop, country, and house/EDM. She has performed with many celebrity artists, including Sir Rod Stewart, The Eagles, Pitbull, Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Stevie Wonder, Nick Jonas, Steven Tyler, Enrique Iglesias, Earth Wind & Fire, Cyndi Lauper, Demi Lovato, and more.
James Anderson
A Fort Collins, Colorado native and violinist since age five, James Anderson feels at home in several musical arenas, including classical, jazz, tango, bluegrass/old time, and more, and has appeared on over 40 recordings. Anderson has been featured in concert halls around the globe and has collaborated with artists such as Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Marcia Ball, Fyfe Dangerfield, Carolyn Wonderland, and more. Anderson is currently based in Las Vegas and is an in-demand violinist and teacher on the vibrant music scene.
Kimberley Kistler
Kimberley Kistler is a versatile cellist, singer, and recording artist known for her engaging performances and ability to adapt across a variety of musical genres. Originally from California and now based in Las Vegas, she has built a career that bridges classical, contemporary, and crossover styles. Whether performing solo or with ensembles, Kistler brings her unique artistry and technical excellence to every project.
Tickets to attend the Fiddle & Fern Ensemble are available online and must be purchased in advance.
The ticket prices are $30 for the general public. Additionally, those who sign up to become Rita Deanin Abbey Art Museum members will receive free admission to the Fiddle & Fern Ensemble and any special event held at the museum throughout the year.
