Concordance: New Pairings of Literature and Music April 20, 3-5pm
Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art
4505 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, Nevada 89154
What happens when the worlds of literature and music combine? The final composer's forum concert of the season, featuring original collaborative work by UNLV English Department creative writing graduate students and School of Music composition students in conjunction with the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art, seeks to answer exactly this question. The Composers Forum presents music and literature as inherently cooperative art forms, requiring active engagement between both audience and art as well as between individual artists themselves. Exploring the alchemical space where language meets music meets art, the concert promises to be an evening of boundary-crossing and genre-swapping magic.
