In every neighborhood, there is someone who makes the Arts a part of their life, and our community. You'd be surprised to discover how many different people use the arts to improve the quality of life in our hometown. EAT MORE ART! VEGAS will feature them regularly in our series "10 Bites."
What performing art do you do?
Theatre Performance
Why do you do it?
It is the only thing I have ever wanted to do, I love it, and I am fortunate beyond words to work in Las Vegas (where I was born and raised) with some of the most creative, and talented artists in the world!
What’s your favorite production/performance so far?
I performed in Tony and Tina's Wedding for ten years, I made lifelong friends, and got to entertain many, many audiences!
What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Retail Management
What memorable responses have you had to your work?
"Tony and Tina" had some lovely reviews over the years... I once had a guest thank me for giving them a reprieve from mourning the loss of a loved one. They were thankful for the laughs.
What would you be doing if you weren't performing your art?
This is a tough question! Theatre has always been my passion... I like helping people, and like to think I'm compassionate, maybe I'd be a counselor like my wife!
Name something you love about Las Vegas, and why.
The culture. People tend to think Las Vegas has no culture, I couldn't disagree more, it is everywhere in this town, we are so much more than Las Vegas Blvd!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
"Always be doing something". This was advice from a professor at UNLV, he taught me that even if I'm not in a show, I could be reading plays, working monologues, learning the craft, networking. This advice kept me active, and sane during years that I couldn't perform.
What superpower would you have and why?
Flight! Because who doesn't want to be like Superman?!
Any future projects?
Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, at the Majestic Repertory Theatre, opens January 11!
