To further honor that premiere recipient, the award was said to be forever after known as the David Sankuer Hero Award. Sadly, we lost David shortly after that moving presentation, but his legacy, and the award live on. The David Sankuer Award honors individuals for significant achievement in the promotion of excellence in the highest standards of theatrical production and performance. "Since I first arrived in Las Vegas, and began forging relationships with various performing arts programs, I quickly became aware of the tremendous contributions made by photographer Richard Brusky. There seemed to be no performance that was not documented by his revelatory photographs. In fact, he was so prolific, I wondered if there might be two of him.
Richard is not only a generous artist, donating his time and talent, he is also a diehard fan, and will return as an audience member to see productions he has already photographed.
