Pinocchio @ Opera Las Vegas

Opera Las Vegas is presenting an operatic version of the world-famous story of Pinocchio as a gift to Valley children of all ages. John Davies has created a delightful musical mash-up of arias and duets to tell the ever-popular tale featuring the famous puppet boy, the clock maker Gepetto, the mysterious Blue Lady, the shady puppeteer Dr. Dulcamara, the mechanical doll Olympia, and the trouble-making pair of Cat and Wolf. Four talented Young Artists have their work cut out for them as they portray all the characters and spend 60 merry minutes entertaining listeners with well-known opera arias and duets. While the show is especially appreciated by ages K-6, operatic music by Verdi, Mozart, Pergolesi, Donizetti, and Sullivan will also be appreciated by adults as it is properly sung by sopranos Athena Mertes and Casey Gardner, tenor William McCullough, and baritone Travis Lewis. Four Pinocchio performances are scheduled at the below dates, times, and locations: -Saturday, 18 March at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Starbright Theatre, 2215 Thomas W Ryan Blvd. -Sunday, 19 March at 2:00 pm, West Las Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. -Sunday, 26 March at 3:00 pm, Windmill Library Auditorium, 7060 W. Windmill Lane. Admission is free on a first come basis.
